The importance of Creating Sacred Space
If you have been in my healing room you know that I have dedicated a lot of time and energy to create a calm, relaxed atmosphere for our sessions.
Places where there is calmness and spirituality often feel very peaceful, while places where there has been conflict, stress, anger and violence can make one feel anxious or unsettled.
Being Empathic, a sensitive soul, we often are affected by negative feeling spaces we hang out in. When we spend time in these spaces we can make become tired, anxious, fearful, and even sick.
But what if the bad vibe space is your home?
Don’t move just yet. LOL
From a Shamanic energetic point of view the spirit of a place can hold the energy of what’s happened in in that space.
If you or someone in you home has been feeling angry, sad, worried, stressed, depressed or anxious this can changed the energy “vibe” of your home, and effect the people living in it.
So what can you do to change it?
First don’t play the blame and shame game. Remember that you, and everyone all go through down times at some point in their life.Especially these last + months. They’ve been hard on everyone.
What you can do is change the Vibe so you all can Thrive.
To break the cycle of negative emotions and feelings you need to change the energy of the house. Since you. or your fellow dweller(s) my not have tons of energy to do this that’s OK.
Here are some simple but effective ways to raise the energy in a place to create ‘sacred space’.
- Find a room, a space, or even a chair that could become your sacred space. Tidy it up and spend at least 5 minutes every day in this space.
- Create sacred space by lighting a beeswax candle.
- Use essential oils in a diffuser to help with relaxation: I recommend these mood-boosting essential oils.: Lavender, Bergamot, Frankincense, Geranium, Vetiver, and Chamomile.
- Spend some time listening to a drumming track https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0K78eKXsYeg or a relaxing music. I love this track https://youtu.be/V6R8uiaMtb0
- Creating an inner sacred space: Creative visualization sometimes called guided imagery connected with relaxation is very helpful for reducing anxiety.
