I Did It! | My Steps Towards Healing Self-Sabotage
Self-sabotage was a new concept to me when I was first introduced to it during my Shamanic Energy Medicine Training many years ago.
I never understood, or if I’m honest, wanted to see why I kept putting things off, not finishing things I started, nor following through with my many great ideas. What I came to realize it was ME who was standing in the way. It wasn’t my inability, or lack o skills, nor things, situations, or people that I blamed. It was just me getting in my own way.
There’s a lot to why and how we Self-Sabotage. But at it’s core, what’s often behind it, is it’s our way of protecting our self. We have such a deep love within us that’s doing things that may look negative or not beneficial but who’s main motive and programming is to simply keep us safe, to never let us feel the hurt or pain ever again.
Unfortunately it does stop us from stepping into unknown, or seemingly familiar situations. But this interferes with us being, and becoming the full expression of our self.
I too am working towards breaking out of my self-sabotaging patterns.
